Sue came to us from a rescue shelter, where she had been taken after she was found wandering around outside. She was terrified when she first arrived, and would run and hide if anyone walked into the room. With patience and gentleness, she began to realise that not all humans were scary monsters, but her real transformation began when she was introduced to the other rats. She loved them all, especially Twix. Sue adored all baby rats and always tried to mother them.

When she had been with us for nearly a year, her hind legs became paralysed. She coped for a while, but became steadily more disabled until she was unable to move on her own. She was put to sleep on the same day as her best friend Twix.
