Sprite came from the south of England with her sister Imp. She was a bossy, confident girl who loved to climb - no surface was too daunting! Wrestling was another favourite activity and if no other rats were available to wrestle with, a human hand would do. Sprite was also an Olympic class jumper, springing up to two feet straight up in the air. She was always active, affectionate, and much loved even though she was a mistress of destruction.

She was over two when she had surgery to remove a large tumour on her chest and two others in her groin, but she bounced back remarkably well and was soon running around again. Unfortunately, the tumours returned very quickly and it would not have been fair to put an elderly rat through endless rounds of surgery. When the tumours became too much for her, she was put to sleep. Her liveliness and playfulness, even in old age, are sorely missed.
