Born 2006

Max and Paddy came all the way to Edinburgh from Devon, where kind people had adopted them from PAH under their adoption scheme. They were already adults but we have no idea how old they are, exactly. Max was very much the dominant male of the two, and he didn't take kindly to being moved around, or to the smell of past male rats around the place and he became very aggessive to us when he was out, though he was fine in his cage. He was obviously stressed and got himself very worked up, so eventually we took the decision to have him neutered for his own sake as well as the preservation of our hands. Since his neuter, Max has been a cuddly teddy bear of a rat, very affectionate and no more displays of huffing and puffing. Unfortunately, though, he and Paddy have recently had to be separated as they have started to fight and were wounding each other. If they won't reconcile, I will have to think of alternative company for both of them.
