Kickstart was Gizmo's sister, but they couldn't have been more different in temperament. Where Gizmo was outgoing, Kickstart was shy and a little nervous. She had very bad eyesight and used to stand and sway for ages before she would risk moving somewhere new. She got her name because she would come to the cage door and hesitate before coming out. The rats behind would get so impatient they would shove her out so that they could get past.

Kickstart developed an inoperable abdominal tumour and had to be put to sleep when she could no longer take food.
