Gremlin was very shy when she first arrived, but she was naturally outgoing and was soon tearing around the place. She was deaf, but was never jumpy like some deaf rats are, and she had a huge personality.A bundle of mischief and yet a real lover of human company, she was always a joy.

In the weeks before her death, however, Gremlin became very withdrawn and she started to show classic signs of a pituitary tumour. Her symptoms developed gradually at first, but during her last days she deteriorated very quickly. She was put to sleep when she could no longer walk or eat.
